Please see note at bottom for details.&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Wisconsin is psyched about Yahoo’s new CEO &amp;lt;runtime:topic id=”PEBSL000941”&amp;gt;Marissa Mayer&amp;lt;/runtime:topic&amp;gt;.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;While most of the world is reading about Marissa Mayer, former Google executive and Stanford grad, the Wisconsin press is focusing on Marissa Mayer, cheesehead.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;”Yahoo has tapped another Wisconsin native to lead the Internet company,” a widely reprinted Associated Press report from Mayer’s hometown of Wausau begins.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;By the second paragraph the writer notes that Mayer graduated from Wausau West High, and is the second Wisconsin woman to try to revive Yahoo. &amp;lt;runtime:topic id=”PEBSL0000863”&amp;gt;Carol Bartz&amp;lt;/runtime:topic&amp;gt;, CEO of Yahoo from 2009 to September 2011, grew up in a farm near Alma in western Wisconsin.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Milwaukee radio station 88.9 began its &amp;lt;a href=”https://www.radiomilwaukee.org/music/soundboard/technically-yours/technically-yours-wisconsin-native-google-exec-marissa-mayer-take”&amp;gt;coverage&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt; with,&amp;nbsp;”Are you aware that the #20 employee of Google is a Wisconsin native? Did you also [know] that this native was also named one of 50 of the&amp;lt;span class=”apple-converted-space”&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;a href=”https://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/most-powerful-women/2011/snapshots/38.html”&amp;gt;world’s most powerful women in business&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;&amp;lt;span class=”apple-converted-space”&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;last year, and she is under the age 40?”&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Wisconsinites pride in Mayer’s big career move is also in full effect on Twitter.&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;University of Wisconsin, Madison tweeted her a “&amp;lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/UWMadison”&amp;gt;huge congrats,&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;” and retweeted a post from &amp;lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/BabieFaceRunde”&amp;gt;BabieFaceRunde,&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt; who wrote, “@marissamayer&amp;nbsp;was my babysitter!!!! Wausau pride!!”&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Lori Richards, a vice president at Mueller Communications and “lover of all things Milwaukee,” tweeted: “&amp;lt;span&amp;gt;Following the awe-inspiring career of MarissaMayer&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;span&amp;gt;- #Wisconsin&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;span&amp;gt;girl, corporate star, and now mom. When she writes a book, I’ll buy it ;)”&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;And Matthew Sean Hogan wrote: “Marissa&amp;nbsp;Mayer, employee 20 at Google and&amp;nbsp;Wisconsin&amp;nbsp;native, is the new Yahoo! CEO. I am so nerdedly excited for this its almost sad. Almost.”&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;All the Wisconsin love got to be a bit much for Matt Wild, city editor for the Milwaukee AV Club.&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;span&amp;gt;”Okay, I got it.&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;Marissa&amp;nbsp;Mayer&amp;lt;span&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;is from&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;Wisconsin&amp;lt;span&amp;gt;. It’s neat. Please stop now,” he wrote.&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;But the good news is that Mayer still has love for Wisconsin.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;In a March interview at the 92nd Street Y in New York for its Captains of Industry series, she talks warmly about her childhood in the town of Wasau, the fifth largest city in Wisconsin.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;”I had a really wonderful and convenient childhood,” she said. “[The town] was big enough that we had amazing opportunites. We had a world-class ballet school there in town, ice skating lessons, brownies, a wonderful debate team.
