Opinion: Elizabeth Stromme, R.I.P.

Elizabeth Stromme, author of Joe’s Word: An Echo Park Novel, writer of gardening columns (including some that appeared in the Times), and anti-war activist, died yesterday at age 59 from gastric cancer. She was a good friend of mine, and will be missed.
