UCLA, seemingly in control throughout much of the first half, finds itself facing a serious test, leading Oregon, 31-28, at halftime. Oregon closed the half with a 12-2 run to erase a 13-point deficit. The Bruins went without a field goal after Tyler Honeycutt scored on a layup and was fouled with 5 minutes 24 seconds left in the half. His free throw gave UCLA a 29-16 lead.
But Tajuan Porter took over the game, creating a tempo that had the Bruins on their heels. Porter made two three-pointers in the last two minutes of the half.
UCLA had no problems early on. At one point Nikola Dragovic made three consecutive three-pointers, part of a 15-2 run that gave the Bruins a 24-13 lead with 6:50 left in the half.
Dragovic has 11 points at halftime.
Porter has nine points and center Michael Dunigan eight to lead Oregon.
