My predictions went haywire this week

I picked a heck of a time to get things really wrong on my weekly predictions. Let’s count the semifinal blunders I blogged back on Thursday:
- I said third-seeded Saugus would upset top-seeded St. Bonaventure in a close game and we all know that definitely wasn’t the case.
- I thought Palmdale would meet its doom at the hands of second-seeded Dominguez, but the Falcons flew into the Western Division finals by the slimmest of margins.
- I also erroneously blogged Bishop Diego would fall short in its quest to prevent top-seeded Paraclete from advancing to a divisional final for the first time since 2001.
- Finally, I once again underestimated the Nordhoff running game and couldn’t believe it when I read the Pirate-slayers were toppled by a two-TD margin.
And while I accurately predicted the winners of the Hart-Newbury Park and Oaks Christian-Oak Park contests, I was way off on the scores. I really thought these games would be more competitive.
I hadn’t come up a loser on four games all season. I had a couple three-loss weeks this year, but not four.
So, be sure to see what I have to say on all the divisional championship contests later this week.
