Mater Dei (19-1) enjoyed a huge victory on Saturday, defeating Corona Santiago 4-0 in the championship game of the Santiago Spring Fling Tournament.

Miranda Tamayo pitched a three-hitter and retired the last ten batters she encountered en route to the shutout.

The Monarchs’ win will have huge implications in the state and national rankings. Santaigo (19-1) was ranked No. 1 in California by Calhisports and No. 2 in the nation by ESPN Rise.
