Girls’ basketball: St. Anthony leads at halftime

A mild upset is brewing in the Southern Section Division 4A final at the Anaheim Convention Center, where second-seeded Long Beach St. Anthony leads top-seeded Westlake Village Oaks Christian 23-16 at halftime.

Jourdan Cooper has six points and five rebounds so far for the Saints, who have made seven of eight free throws and are out-rebounding Oaks Christian by a 30-18 margin.

Brianna Barrett has six points and six rebounds for the Lions, who are shooting 20.6% and are 0-of-6 from the three-point line. St. Anthony outscored Oaks Christian 12-7 in the second quarter.
