Community College Roundup : Saddleback Stops Hornet Win Streak

Saddleback College women’s basketball team, led by guard Heather Estey’s 29 points, snapped Fullerton’s 32-game South Coast Conference win streak with a 63-57 victory Friday night at Saddleback.
Fullerton led, 35-29, at halftime, but the Gauchos rallied, behind Estey, with eight minutes remaining. Estey scored 21 points in the second half to spark the Gauchos’ comeback.
Sandy Cotton scored 21 points and Diana Rockwood added 18 for the Hornets, who fell to 4-1 in conference.
Saddleback is 5-1 in conference.
Orange Coast 64, Santa Ana 56--Guard Amy Hathcock scored 18 points and Tami Parker and Mary Beth Tobe had 14 and 13 respectively to give the Pirates the win at Santa Ana.
Hathcock hit four free throws in the last two minutes to seal the win for Orange Coast (4-1 and 13-4). Santa Ana, which led, 29-28, at halftime, was paced by Rosalyn Jenkins’ game-high 23 points.
