Sunset League : Ocean View Breezes Past Marina, 71-41

Ocean View High School built a 39-23 halftime and had little trouble beating Marina, 71-41, Friday night at Ocean View.
Mark Georgeson, Marina’s 6-foot 8-inch sophomore center, got into early foul trouble and wasn’t able to handle the Seahawks’ sophomore center Ricky Butler, who scored 19 points.
The Seahawks (3-0, 14-3) got balanced scoring, including 19 points from Blaine Debrouwer.
Ocean View out-scored Marina, 15-5, in the third quarter and played its reserves the rest of the way.
The Vikings were led by 6-5 freshman forward Steve Guild, who had 13 points.
Marina falls to 0-3 in league and 8-10 overall.

OCEAN VIEW (71)--Panzica 4, Butler 19, Labat 6, Debrouwer 19, Hazley 7, Flynn 10, Ramirez 2, McGinchey 4.
Edison 47, Huntington Beach 43--Junior guard Ken Ammann was 8 for 13 from the floor and 5 of 5 from the free throw line, scoring a game-high 21 points.
The game was tied, 31-31, after three quarters, but the Chargers were outscored by four in the decisive fourth quarter. Both teams suffered through a poor-shooting third quarter.
Guard Mike Schultz scored 12 points to lead the Oilers, who fell to 2-1 in league. Edison is 2-1.
HUNTINGTON BEACH (43)--Howard 9, Hanavan 10, Schutz 12, Snow 10, Vitz 2.
EDISON (47)--Ammann 21, McConnell 1, Cole 8, Katona 7, Coenen 10.
Fountain Valley 75, Westminster 54--The Zeno brothers--Eric and Lance--combined for 26 points as the Barons breezed to their second straight league win at Westminster. Fountain Valley held a 35-21 lead at halftime and improved its overall record to 10-6. The Lions, who fell to 3-11, were paced by Eric Schurman’s 17 points.
