Groin Injury May Keep Nance Out of Playoffs

PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns all-star forward Larry Nance will sit out the final six games of the regular season and could also miss the playoffs due to a groin injury, club officials said Wednesday.
Team physician Dr. Paul Steingard said a nuclear magnetic resonance scan Wednesday showed significant hemorrhaging in the tendon on the left side of Nance’s groin.
The 6-10 Nance suffered the groin pull March 2 while attempting a slam dunk in a game here against the Kansas City Kings. He has missed 14 of the last 15 games, and the Suns have gone 4-10 without their leading scorer and second-leading rebounder.
Nance tried to play in Saturday night’s loss here to the Clippers but missed all nine of his shots from the field and said, “I just really couldn’t move, at all.”
