The National Audubon Society has been selected as the agency responsible for restoration and management of the 209-acre wetlands preserve in the Playa Vista property south of Marina del Rey.
The agreement was announced jointly by Supervisor Deane Dana, City Councilwoman Pat Russell and the Howard Hughes Development Co., owner of the property.
Under the agreement, Hughes will contribute $10 million to the project. The Audubon Society must submit its plans to the California Coastal Commission for approval.
