Pertron Controls, manufacturer of computerized welding controls, received a $130,000 contract from China.
The Canoga Park company will sell its electricity-resistant welding controls, the PWC-300 and Paragon 2000, to China National Aero Technology of Peking. Pertron will train Chinese engineers in a welding process that will be used primarily for aircraft interiors. The method is also used to weld refrigerator and automobile parts.
“It means an avenue into China, an opportunity to develop a rapport, to make the Chinese proficient in our technology,” said Bill Barnes, executive vice president of Pertron.
