Longtime Court Official Named Clerk for Justices

WASHINGTON — Joseph E. Spaniol, a longtime federal court official, has been appointed clerk of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Warren E. Burger said Wednesday. Burger also announced the appointment of Stephen G. Margeton as the court’s new librarian.
