The city has completed two major additions to its parks, a band shell in Finkbiner Park and a campground at Big Dalton Park.
The band shell in the West Oaks Grove area of Finkbiner Park is the result of a community drive and was built with $50,000 in public donations. It will be the site of Sunday afternoon band concerts throughout the summer. The Big Dalton Canyon campground features picnic and bathroom facilities, a new bridge, amphitheater and campfire ring and will be available to community organizations. It was financed with $120,000 from the California Parklands Act of 1980.
