Lawrence Kerin has been named president of Meguiar’s, a Newport Beach-based manufacturer of waxes and polishes. He was chief operating officer for the Trenmark marketing services firm in La Mirada for three years before coming to Meguiar’s this month.
Kerin, 43, will be the first non-family member to assume chief operational duties at the firm since its founding in 1901, according to a company spokesman. He replaces Barry Meguiar, who has become owner/consultant for long-range planning for the company.
Founding family member Meguiar announced his successor’s appointment. “Meguiar’s is a company on the move,” he said, “and Mr. Kerin will be instrumental in the company’s continued growth and leadership in the automotive, marine and household products marketplaces.”
