A search for a new hotel for Carson’s Civic Center property was initiated this week by city officials.
The search comes in the wake of a decision Sept. 4 by the developer of a proposed Hilton hotel, the Feinberg Group, to abandon 3-year-old plans for the $22-million development. The company said it could not proceed for lack of financing.
City officials instructed staff to contact hotel developers who had previously expressed interest in the $5-million, city-owned site and examine any new proposals that are submitted.
