Rep. McKernan to Run for Governor in Maine

PORTLAND, Me. — Rep. John R. McKernan Jr. (R-Me.) announced Thursday that he will seek the 1986 GOP nomination for governor. Two-term Democratic Gov. Joseph E. Brennan is constitutionally barred from seeking reelection.
