JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — The government today banned the autobiography of Winnie Mandela, wife of imprisoned black nationalist leader Nelson Mandela, saying it had been “found to be undesirable.”
The government censorship board banned her book “Part of My Soul,” saying that as of today it would be an offense to import or distribute the book in the country. Also today, the leaders of the Soweto “Black Christmas” consumer boycott of white businesses said their leader has been arrested, but police would not immediately confirm the report.
