About 450 drivers for one of two armored car companies hit by a strike voted to reject the management’s latest proposal and will stay off the job despite a return to work by members of two other unions. Members of the Cash and Security Handlers Assn., representing the drivers for Armored Transport of California Inc., voted “unanimously to reject, with great enthusiasm,” union President Leonard Gainey said. The rejection came despite the return to work at Brink’s Inc. by 100 drivers, who are represented by another union, Armored Truck Employees Assn. Drivers for the Orange County Office of Armored Transport, belonging to a third union, have also returned to work. Drivers walked off the job Nov. 25 to protest wage and benefit cuts.
