McMartin Case: ‘Begging for Answers’

Reiner’s decision is unfair to the victims, the defendants and the public that paid the bill.
The trial of hundreds of hours of dialogue in Reiner’s office with Reiner himself as judge and the handful of top career prosecutors as jury resulted in a finding of not guilty. In their opinion, the defendants could not be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
It is not Reiner’s function as district attorney to second-guess the judge who personally evaluated witnesses and decided on the validity of their testimony.
