Restaurant Given Zoning Change

Orofino’s Restaurant, 4505 Las Virgenes Road, has received a zoning change to rebuild its facilities and to add three two-story office buildings to the site.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved the change from residential to commercial use Thursday after restaurant owner Michael Orofino agreed to meet several conditions requested by local residents, including landscaping the site and restricting building heights to 30 feet.
David Vannatta, an aide to Supervisor Mike Antonovich, said that the land had been zoned for residential use under the Malibu-Santa Monica Mountains General Plan, although Orofino’s Restaurant has been there for several years.
