Local News in Brief : Car Hits Parked Trash Truck; 3 Die, 1 Hurt

Three men died and another was critically injured Friday evening when their car crashed into the back of a parked trash truck in Pacoima, Los Angeles police said.

The men were driving south on Glenoaks Boulevard just north of Osborne Street about 6:15 p.m. when the accident occurred, Officer James Akana said. The driver of the truck was eating dinner in a nearby condominium, Akana said.

Three men, whose identities were not released, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, identified as Berhane Bizuamlak, 34, of Pacoima, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills in critical condition with massive head wounds, Akana said.
