South El Monte : Wiring Blamed in Fire
Mountain View School District officials have estimated the losses from a fire that destroyed two special-education classrooms and damaged four other rooms at Kranz School at $500,000.
The fire broke out about 7 p.m. Feb. 4, apparently the result of an electrical wiring problem, officials said.
No one was injured in the blaze, but Principal Andrew Salcido said about 50 special-education students were displaced. Their classes will be held in a trailer until September, when the classrooms can be rebuilt.
