Japan firms have developed new 1-megabit chips.

Toshiba said its 1-megabit SRAM computer chip will be for use in computers and office automation equipment. Its capacity is four times larger than currently available static random access memory chips. Also, Matsushita said it has developed a 1-megabit dynamic RAM video chip for use in digital televisions.
