Canyons Avenges ’85 Title Loss to Cerritos, 5-4

College of the Canyons scored five runs in the second inning, then survived a late rally Thursday to defeat Cerritos, 5-4.
The game was a rematch of last year’s junior college state championship, which Cerritos won, 14-5.
Cerritos is ranked No. 1 in Southern California. Canyons is ranked No. 2.
