Local News in Brief : Workers Find Body Near Foothill Freeway

Los Angeles police are attempting to identify a man found shot to death Wednesday morning on an embankment of the Foothill Freeway in Sylmar.
Employees of a nearby tree farm discovered the body about 10:30 a.m. on the grass shoulder of the freeway south of Maclay Street, Officer Fred Tepstein said.
The victim had been shot several times at close range with a small-caliber weapon, Tepstein said.
