Malibu : Students Win 40 Awards

Pepperdine University students won 40 awards in broadcast and print journalism at the 37th annual California Intercollegiate Press Assn. convention in Irvine.
TV-3, Pepperdine’s television station, won the sweepstakes for the most points in the broadcast category and took second-place awards for best newscast and best magazine show. The TV station earned eight awards overall.
The university’s radio station, KMBU, earned third place in the sweepstakes competition with six awards. The Graphic, Pepperdine’s weekly paper, finished third in the newspaper sweepstakes with 18 awards, including a first place in general excellence. Oasis, the school’s feature magazine, won eight awards, including best cover.
