Naming Angeles National Forest
I am appalled by the lack of sensitivity of the Board of Supervisors in its move to rename the Angeles National Forest after Ronald Reagan. Have we forgotten that he is the intellectual giant who told us that trees pollute more than cars? Ronald Reagan was also responsible for appointing James Watt to secretary of the Interior and Anne Gorsuch Burford to head the Environmental Protection Agency, two people dedicated to destroying America the beautiful.
Surely a more fitting tribute would be to name a multi-story parking lot or an oil rig in the Santa Barbara Channel to honor our inspirational leader.
