OCC Crews Sweep UC Irvine and USC

Orange Coast College won all four of the races it entered in a tri-meet with UC Irvine and USC on North Lido Channel in Newport Beach.
With all races 2,000 meters and into a head wind, the Pirates took first place in novice four with a time of 7:18.9, edging USC (7:19,6).
OCC won novice eight with a time of 6:20.0. USC (6:28.2) was second and Irvine third (6:52.3).
In Frosh eight, OCC won in 6:18.9, UCI (6:29.0) was second and USC third (6:48.0). In J.V. eight, the OCC A team won (6:18.43) and OCC’s B team was second (6:30.0). UCI (6:28.7) was third and USC (6:41.7) fourth.
OCC did not compete in varsity eight. UCI won in 6:21.8, with USC second (6:27.8).
