U.S. Again Cautions Americans on Trips

WASHINGTON — The State Department on Tuesday renewed its warning to Americans to “exercise caution” in international travel in the wake of the U.S. air strike against Libya, but it stopped short of issuing a formal advisory against trips to the Mediterranean basin.
“Americans should obviously exercise caution in all international travel during this period of tension,” State Department spokesman Bernard Kalb said. “The majority of states in the area have taken stringent precautions to prevent terrorist incidents. Nevertheless, the threat exists.”
