Anaheim : Visiting Boy, 1 1/2, Drowns in Jacuzzi

A 1 1/2-year-old boy from National City drowned in a jacuzzi while playing in the backyard of relatives on Saturday, police reported.
The victim, Julius C. Miranda, was found floating in the backyard jacuzzi at 3 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m. at Western Medical Center in Anaheim, despite efforts at the accident scene to revive him by cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The accident happened at 527 S. Sonya St., where the child was visiting relatives, police said. Police said the child was outdoors playing with young cousins, when an uncle, Barry Meadow, heard the children say something was wrong with the little boy. An aunt, Loretta Goldberg, rushed out and found the child in the jacuzzi, police said.
Paramedics called to the scene were unable to revive the boy.
