Snow Chief Gets a Big Sendoff Today

Snow Chief will make a public appearance at Santa Anita Park today as the track gives the Kentucky Derby favorite a special “Sendoff Day” as he prepares for his next start in the Derby on May 3.

Fans passing through a turnstile on that day will receive a poster of Snow Chief, while supplies last.

The California-bred colt at least will make an appearance before today’s crowd, and if his training plans continue on schedule, he may have a workout between races.

Snow Chief’s victory in the $500,000 Santa Anita Derby on April 6 was his fifth consecutive stakes win. Prior to that start, he shipped east to show his superiority by winning the Florida Derby.
