Brea police suspect that a 38-year-old Brea woman missing since Tuesday after she dropped off her children at school may have met with foul play, a police spokesman said Friday.
Police are searching for Marie Andrea Malmgreen, who failed to pick up her children Tuesday after promising to return, said Detective Douglas Dickerson.
Malmgreen also missed appointments the same day for lunch and jazzercise, Dickerson said.
Malmgreen has brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.
She was last seen at about 8 a.m. leaving a private school in Brea in a light blue 1981 Cadillac El Dorado with a dark blue vinyl top. The car’s personalized license plates read “BIGE 14.”
Police said Malmgreen is married and that her husband, Russell, reported no family disputes. Her husband notified police Tuesday evening after his wife failed to return home.
Police have interviewed friends and relatives and have circulated a description of Malmgreen and her car to police agencies across the country.
