Fan in the Scuffle With Reggie Says He Drank More Than Six-Pack of Beer

MILWAUKEE — A man who was refused an autograph by baseball star Reggie Jackson said Monday he drank more than a six-pack of beer before he was injured in a weekend barroom scuffle with the Angels’ player.
But Donald Weimer, 26, of Racine, Wis., later told reporters he was not intoxicated.
“I didn’t feel I was affected,” said Weimer, who admitted to drinking about nine beers Saturday afternoon. “It was spread out over a long period of time and I had eaten.”
Weimer, who claims Jackson choked him into unconsciousness, appeared before Milwaukee County District Attorney Michael McCann, who opened a fact-finding review to determine if charges should be filed against Jackson.
McCann questioned three people in the informal hearing Monday and said he would like to hear from others, including Jackson.
He said he could not predict when the review would conclude.
