Monrovia : Revision of Car Sign Law
An ordinance banning for-sale signs on motor vehicles parked in Monrovia is expected to be revised at the next City Council meeting to permit one sign in a vehicle’s window, City Atty. Richard Morillo said.
Morillo recommended the change in the ordinance at the last council meeting to bring it up to date with state regulations and to ward off potential legal challenges, he said. The council will vote on it Tuesday. “It was really just a matter of cleaning up an outdated code section,” Morillo said.
The ordinance will still prohibit painting “for sale” on a vehicle’s exterior, but will allow a sign no larger that 12 inches by 20 inches to be placed in a window.
