A Sleep Tonic

As San Diego continues to grow and become ever more urbanized, the need to preserve open space within the city becomes more imperative. A quality city includes areas for its residents to enjoy that are free of parking lots, offices, condominiums, hotels and other structures. Famosa Slough is one of those areas. We need to preserve our breathing spaces for today and the future.
I am not a naturalist or bird watcher, but I greatly appreciate the Famosa Slough as a peaceful area after a good hectic day at work. On occasion, a stroll by the wetland, observing the many different birds and other small wildlife, keeps exceptionally trying days from becoming a burden to sleep with.
San Diego’s population density will continue to increase, and we all need Famosa Slough to be a natural wetland park, a safety valve to relieve workday pressures.
