Hotel in South Africa

It was with keen interest that I read the article by Patricia Cross, “Johannesburg Hotel Open To All” (April 6).
It certainly is refreshing to read something of a side of South Africa which is generally ignored. Ms. Cross does a good job of introducing what is, by any standard, a most spectacular and ambitious development, leading the way in the hotel industry worldwide.
It takes courage and a keen sense of objectivity to print an article of this nature in today’s climate, and may I offer my thanks for its appearance in The Times.
One does not seek to deny the problems and difficulties which exist in South Africa, but there is also no denying the enormity of change which has taken place and which continues to transform the country into a land of opportunity for all.
