The National Women’s Basketball Assn. announced the formation of an eight-team league that will play a 48-game schedule beginning Nov. 1.
With corporate offices at Lake Wylie, S.C., the league’s eight teams will be the California Stars in Orange County; the Carolina Blaze in Charlotte, N.C.; the Georgia Peaches in Atlanta; the Virginia Express in Richmond, Va.; the Louisiana Blues in Monroe, La.; the Texas Twisters in Austin, Tex.; the Iowa Aces in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the Tennessee Tiger-cats in Knoxville, Tenn.
