NEW YORK — The stock market inched ahead today, extending the rise that has carried it to new record highs this week.
The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials closed up 5.49 at 1,909.03.
New York Stock Exchange volume was about 150.00 million shares compared with 147.67 million shares Tuesday.
