Arcadia : Trash Collection Rate Hike

The City Council voted 3 to 2 to grant Best Disposal Co. an increase in the garbage collection rate for residential curbside can service. Best will receive the increase it had sought from $5.05 a month to $7.15.
Councilmen Robert Harbicht and Dennis Lojeski voted against the rate hike on the grounds that city staff had recommended an increase to $6.71 a month to cover the company’s increased dump fees and liability insurance.
The increase takes effect Sept. 4.
