Malaysia became the first non-African nation to join the boycott of the Commonwealth Games over British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s refusal to impose sanctions against South Africa for its discriminatory racial policy of apartheid.
India is also reportedly considering joining Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania in boycotting the games in Scotland next week.
