Maecon Inc., a construction firm based in Irvine, has been awarded a $3.43-million contract by the Navy to build a jet engine test cell at the Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego. It is scheduled for completion in June.
Steve Crane, project engineer and civil estimator for Maecon, said that the company completed a similar test cell at the naval air station in Lemoore, Calif., early in 1984. That contract was for $2.44 million.
