Magician David Copperfield is looking for some very special assistants: guards and wardens who once worked at Alcatraz.
They’ll witness--and attempt to stop--his escape from Alcatraz. And it’ll be filmed for a TV special. “They’ll watch me in a cell from remote-control cameras,” said Copperfield. “We’ll have Dobermans to try and stop me, and a helicopter to try and find me. If something happens to me, we’ll have to look into the illusion of me coming back from the dead.”
He added: “Kids will be advised not to try this trick at home, unless they live in a large prison.”
Applicants should send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Alcatraz Alumni, 5455 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 2200, Los Angeles 90036. Deadline is Sept. 1.
