United Education & Software said its earnings increased 142% to $442,000, or 5 cents a share, in its second quarter ended July 31, on a 58% increase in revenue, to $8.1 million.
The Encino-based owner of trade and technical schools has been posting increased profits over the last year, ever since it scaled down its money-losing computer-equipment business. The company said its revenue was increased by its acquisition late last year of National Technical School in South-Central Los Angeles.
For the six months ended July 31, United Education’s profit rose 125%, to $600,000, or 20 cents a share, on revenue that was up 47%, to $15.4 million.
