City Hall Coziness
San Diego City Councilwoman Abbe Wolfsheimer was perhaps too quick in calling for employees to be fired, but the Sierra Club appreciates her reaction to a questionable coziness at City Hall.
Our representatives must expose this continual effort by a few big, moneyed interests to control City Hall. Developers and industry have for too long had too much influence. Committees are often stacked to have them dominate important community issues. Public health, fair taxation, small business and the environment are often pushed aside to make dollars for a few.
Our elected representatives should seek fairness and should be allowed to speak up when they see undue influence. If they can’t speak up, who can?
