Murder in the Office

What a shame your newspaper defames Louis Zuniga, who worked so hard to benefit and enrich the lives of others (“Murder in the Office” by Nancy Wride and Maria La Ganga, Aug. 3). The friendships he acquired and the admiration he earned are a tribute to this dedicated man.

Your article does not portray Louie as the victim shot down in cold blood, but rather as the villain. If your writers had dug a little deeper, I understand they would have uncovered jealousy and resentment towards Louie--jealousy because he was an outsider brought in to manage, and resentment because he insisted on employees’ arriving on time and terminated the almost two-hour lunch breaks some were taking. Louie was a strong and firm man, and a hard worker who expected no less from his employees, a quality typical of successful leaders.

I had the good fortune of being Louie’s sister-in-law for 30 years, and I want your readers to know he was a wonderful man. It is a tragedy to lose him, and your article increases the hurt.
