Superior Industries Sees Decline in Third Quarter

Superior Industries said it expects its third-quarter earnings to be slightly off from the same period last year, when it reported net income of $1.4 million, or 25 cents a share, on sales of $31.6 million.
Van Nuys-based Superior, which makes road wheels for automobile manufacturers, said shutdowns of a number of auto plants before the end of the last model year have deferred orders from September to October.
Superior predicted increased fourth-quarter earnings and sales after the slower third quarter.
