San Diego City Volleyball Tournament : SDSU Women Win Two in One Night

SAN DIEGO — San Diego State easily defeated cross-town rivals United States International University and University of San Diego Tuesday night in the San Diego City volleyball tournament at the University of San Diego Sports Center.
SDSU (6-0) eliminated USIU in the tournament’s first match, 15-3, 15-10, 15-3. SDSU’s Kris Morton and Jackie Mendez each had eight kills. Claudia Johnson had six kills for USIU (3-1).
The Aztecs beat USD, 15-3, 15-3, 15-11. Leisa Hagen of USD had seven service aces during the match.
Renee Pankopf, Harsch and Morton each had eight kills for the Aztecs. USD (0-4) was paced by Ruth Bajo’s five kills.
