Long Beach : Arena Agent Is Warned
The City Council Tuesday unanimously voted to put the booking agent for the Long Beach Arena on notice regarding unruly concerts at that facility.
Council members voted to send a letter to Facility Management Inc. of Southern California saying that further disturbances may result in the termination of the firm’s contract with the city. The move was in response to an Aug. 17 “rap” concert during which about 40 people were injured, three seriously, as a result of gang violence.
A spokesman for Facility Management has said that the firm will no longer book acts that draw patrons who might behave violently.
