Boy on Bicycle Killed Darting Into Street

A 4-year-old boy on a bicycle was killed Saturday afternoon when he darted out of a side street and was struck by a vehicle on Pine Tree Drive in Scripps Ranch.
Landon Susemihl of San Diego was hit at 12:44 p.m., police said. He was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:43 p.m.
No charges were filed against the driver of the vehicle, said Sgt. John Wray of the San Diego Police Department.
