Speaker Elected in Canada

OTTAWA — After 11 ballots stretching over 11 hours, the Canadian House of Commons has elected former Fisheries Minister John Fraser to be the new Speaker. Fraser, Progressive Conservative member for Vancouver South who resigned last year in a tuna scandal, replaces John Bosley.
